LaVa is the acronym for laser welding under vacuum and combines the well known advantages of the laser with the vacuum environment.
Due to the reduced pressure of around 1 mbar the keyhole is stabilized during deep penetration welding. This results in the effect that the penetration depth can be increased by a factor of two compared to ambient pressure using the same laser power. Another benefit is the significant reduction of spatters to nearly zero.
LaVa can be ordered including a Laser or configured to be used with an existing laser.
